Kerry Senior Hurling Championship : ウィキペディア英語版 | Kerry Senior Hurling Championship
The Kerry Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised by Kerry GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Kerry, Ireland. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship. The winners used to compete in the Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship but having met little success, it was felt that they could compete better at the intermediate grade. The majority of the teams competing come from a group of parishes in the north of the county. The most successful clubs have been Ballyduff and Kilmoyley. The current (2013) champions are St. Brendan's, Ardfert. The first ever County Senior Hurling Championship was played for in 1889. Five teams participated - Abbeydorney, Ballyduff, Kenmare, Kilgarvan and Kilmoyley. In the very first game on 10 March 1889, Abbeydorney defeated Ballyduff on a scoreline of 1-1 to 0-1. Kenmare became the first holders of the championship when they defeated Kilmoyley 1-0 to 0-1. (A goal outweighed any number of points at the time.) Each team was made up of 21 players. ==Top winners==
